Cloning an event is the perfect way to create annual events or events that are similar. The attendee data will be removed and simple updates can be made, versus starting from scratch!
This article covers event cloning for our redesigned events experience. If you're using a legacy event, check out this article instead.
To view a quick-start tutorial on cloning an event, check out this video:
Navigate to your form by clicking Form Management under Fundraising in your control panel.
Then, click Manage Events on the form with the event you’d like to copy.
You'll be taken to the Events area of the form-level control panel.
Please note: If you haven't added any events to your form yet, you won't see the Manage Events link. In that case, click Manage Form and then navigate to the Events area of the form-level control panel.
Click Clone next to the event you’d like to copy.
You’ll be asked to confirm that you’d like to clone the event and to select which attributes to clone.
Your Event Details and Theme will be cloned automatically. You can also choose whether or not to clone Packages, Custom Fields, Promo Codes, Table Management settings, and the event's Landing Page.
After you've made your selections and clicked Yes, clone this event, an identical version of the event will be created and will appear in your main listing with the word “copy” after it. You can edit, clone, or delete this event just as you would an event you created from scratch.
To change the event’s name so “copy” no longer appears in the title, simply click Edit next to the event name in the listing. You’ll see the name of the cloned event in the Name field.
Update the text in the Name field and be sure to scroll down and click Save Event.
When you navigate back to the event listing, you’ll see the updated event name.
Please note: Your new event is not automatically set to active – this is so you can make any necessary tweaks to start dates and times, packages, and/or descriptions. Once you’ve done that, be sure to save your changes and toggle on the event to make it active!
