Org-Level Dashboard Data Insights

This document contains descriptions for each of the available data insights for new org-level dashboards. Each definition includes how the metric is calculated, the chart types available for the insight, and information regarding linked reports and whether the insight supports the Compare function.

Donor-Related Insights 

At-Risk Donors 

A list of donors that gave in the past year but not in the past 9 months 

Calculated – A donor is “at-risk” if their last contribution was made between 12 and 9 months ago. Results are displayed in the order of last donation, and only the 5 most recent are shown.

Churn Rate 

Rate at which donors have not given this year compared to the year before 

Calculated – Calculated as 100% minus the retention rate. Retention rate is the number of unique donors with contributions in each of the past 2 years (preceding the current date), divided by the number of unique donors with contributions in the past 1 year. This is represented as a percentage.

Lapsed Donors 

A list of new donors that gave in the past but not in the past 12 months 

Calculated – A donor is considered "lapsed" if they have made contributions in the past but not within the past 12 months. Results are displayed in the order of last donation, and only the 5 most recent are shown.

New Donors 

A list of new donors that gave for the first time in the past 3 months 

Calculated – A new donor is one that has made a contribution for the first time within the past 3 months. Results are displayed in the order of last donation, and only the 5 most recent are shown.

Number of new donors versus the number of repeat donors 

Calculated – Counts the number of new donors (donors with first-time contributions) and compares to the number of donors with more than one contribution within the selected date range.

Retention Rate 

Rate at which donors have given this year compared to the year before 

Calculated – Calculated as the number of unique donors with contributions in each of the past 2 years (preceding the current date), divided by the number of unique donors with contributions within the past 1 year. This is represented as a percentage.

Form-Related Insights 

 

Amount Left to be Raised 

Amount left to be raised based on form goals 

Calculated – Subtracts the amount raised for each peer-to-peer event and auction from each event's goal, then sums this amount for all applicable events. See the Amount Raised insight for more detail on what is included in the amount raised.

Applicable to auction and peer-to-peer forms that the dashboard user has access to (regardless of form status) and filtered by forms selected at the dashboard level, with amounts summed based on a form's thermometer settings.

Amount Raised 

Total amount raised 

Calculated – Sums contributions to each peer-to-peer or auction event according to its settings, then sums this amount for all applicable events.

By default, this includes online and verified offline donations, as well as GiftAssist, Fund-a-Need, store purchases, and bids for auctions. This amount may also include registration costs, GiftAssist, unverified donations, and sales costs, depending on event settings.

Applicable to auction and peer-to-peer forms that the dashboard user has access to (regardless of form status) and filtered by forms selected at the dashboard level, with amounts summed based on a form's thermometer settings.

The number of attendees checked-in vs how many have registered. 

Calculated – The number of attendees that are checked in to all auctions, divided by the number of registrants for all auctions.

Auction Constituents  

Overview of the bidders and donors for auctions 

Calculated – Counts all registered bidders and donations for auctions.

Applicable to auction forms the dashboard user has access to (regardless of form status) and filtered by forms selected at the dashboard level.

"Bidders" refers to all registered bidders on included auction forms within the specified time range, excluding bidders who are marked as "Not attending" and have one of the following transaction statuses: Voided, Refunded, Chargeback, Returned, Declined, or Errors.

"Donations" refers to the number of donation records on all included auction forms within the specified time range whose status is Accepted, Offline, Pending, or Moved, or is a Promise transaction that has not been fulfilled.

Average Auction Item Sale Price 

The average price for which auction items sold

Calculated – Calculates the sum of auction items that have been purchased, divided by the number of auction items purchased.
The bar chart displays the average price for each auction product type, while the dollar amount shows the combined average for all product types.

Bids must be active and placed within the specified time range. Calculation does not include max bids.

Bids by Bid Increment

Bids by Source

Donation Count

Sums up the number of donation records on all included forms within the specified time range whose status is Accepted, Offline, Pending, or Moved, or is a Promise transaction that has not been fulfilled.

Bids must be active and placed within the specified time range. Calculation does not include max bids.

Packages Sold Insight

The number of event packages that have been sold.

Calculated – Calculates the number of event packages sold. The bar chart displays the count of each package sold, while the number amount shows the total count of all packages sold.

Peer-to-Peer Constituents  

Overview of the participants, teams, and donors for peer-to-peer events 

Calculated – Counts all teams, participants, and donations for peer-to-peer events.

Applicable to peer-to-peer forms the dashboard user has access to (regardless of form status) and filtered by forms selected at the dashboard level.

"Teams" refers to the teams on all included peer-to-peer forms that have been created within the specified time range and are currently active.

"Participants" refers to the participants on all included peer-to-peer forms who have registered within the specified time range and are currently active.

"Donations" refers to the donation records on all included peer-to-peer forms within the specified time range whose status is Accepted, Offline, Pending, or Moved, or is a Promise transaction that has not been fulfilled.

Please note: Where applicable, "contributions" refers to any eligible transactions on a form, including donations, registrations, store purchases, etc.

Auction Overview 

Overview of contributions to auctions (online, offline, products, etc.) 

Calculated – Sums each type of contribution made to auctions.

Uses the same function that provides the Auction Overview dashboard at the form level for each individual auction form. If more than one auction form is included in the filter, each data point represented at the form level is summed together.

Reporting is not available for each individual data point, but the user can navigate to an individual auction form to see the Auction Overview for that particular form.
