Your organization-level dashboard is where you can get an overview of your organization’s most important data. And because your organization is unique, our organization-level dashboards are customizable, offering data that tells a story.
All Qgiv users have access to the Online Processing Overview and Detailed Breakdown dashboards. Starter package users can create up to three dashboards and have access to basic filtering options and basic data insights.
To get the most out of dashboards, we recommend upgrading to the Giving Essentials package. With Giving Essentials, you get:
- additional preconfigured dashboards
- the ability to create unlimited dashboards
- advanced data insights
- the ability to compare forms within insights

General Navigation
When you log into your Qgiv account, your org-level dashboard will default to whichever dashboard you were viewing when you were last logged in.
To change to a different dashboard view, click the name of the dashboard in the top left corner of the screen.
This is also where you’ll add more dashboards. If you don’t have Giving Essentials, you can have a total of three dashboards.
You can also drag and drop to reorder the dashboards listed in the dropdown menu by grabbing the two lines to the right of the dashboard name.
Each dashboard is made up of Data Insights, various metrics that you can customize based on the information you want to see. To add a new insight to a dashboard, click the Add Data Insight button in the top right corner.
You can filter the time range of your data using this tool.
You can select one of the pre-defined ranges or set a Custom Range.
You can also filter data by specific forms and events and choose whether or not to exclude $0 transactions by clicking the filter icon and then using the Filter Dashboard menu.
Access the dashboard’s settings by clicking the image of three dots next to the filter icon. You have three options here: Settings, Help, and Remove Dashboard.
In the Settings menu, you can edit the name of the dashboard and its color theme, you can choose whether to display changes over time as a percentage or an amount, and select the desired decimal precision setting.
Help will link you back to this article!
If you decide you no longer need a particular dashboard, click Remove Dashboard. You’ll be asked to confirm before deleting a dashboard.
Please note: You must have at least one dashboard, so if you only have a single dashboard remaining, you won’t be able to delete it.
Creating New Dashboards
To switch between dashboards, click the name of the dashboard in the top left corner of the screen and then choose the one you’d like to switch to.
To add a new dashboard, click Add Dashboard in this same menu.
In the Add Dashboard pop-up, first select the Dashboard Type. Here you’ll find a selection of preconfigured dashboards as well as an option to create your own dashboard from scratch.
Any user can add the Online Processing Overview and Detailed Breakdown preconfigured dashboards, and these dashboards are included in your account by default.
Giving Essentials users can also add the Donors, Auction, and Peer-to-Peer preconfigured dashboards.
To create your own dashboard from scratch, choose Start New from the drop-down.
Next, name your dashboard and choose a Chart Theme, which is the color scheme for the dashboard.
You can choose from Standard, High Contrast, and Colorblind-Friendly themes.
When you’ve configured these basic settings, click Add Dashboard.
If you’ve chosen a preconfigured dashboard, the dashboard will already be populated with data insights.
If you’ve created a blank dashboard, you’ll need to add some!
Auction Summary Dashboard
Auction users can access a special kind of preconfigured dashboard from their auction-level control panel. When viewing a specific auction, you'll see a grey alert bar just above the form-level dashboard.
Clicking the link in this alert will take you out to the org-level dashboard, where you'll see a curated group of dashboard insights, filtered by your auction form.
Pro tip: The new summary dashboard will remain in your list of dashboards for future viewing.
Please note: If you're not a Giving Essentials user, you can use the summary dashboard feature as long as the new dashboard doesn't exceed your limit of three dashboards.
Data Insights
Data insights are what make up your dashboards, and there are lots to choose from!
Check out this article for a full list of available data insights.
At the top left of each insight, you’ll see the insight’s name and the date range it’s currently displaying. For insights that display all data, you’ll see “All Time” instead of a date range.
The top right of the insight includes a refresh button, which can be used to refresh the data every few minutes, and three dots you can click to see more options. If the goal icon is present in the upper right-hand corner, that means a goal can be added to the insight.
The additional options include Edit Data Insight, View Report, Export Insight, Data Insight Info, and Delete.
By clicking Export Insight, you can download an image file or PDF of the data insight for use in other documents.
Clicking Data Insight Info displays a description of the insight and an explanation of how it is calculated.
If the data insight has a linked report, you’ll also see View Report, which will option a new tab displaying the related Qgiv report.
Insights that display a count or dollar amount also include a delta underneath the numerical value. The delta shows the change in that value from the previous period. Hover to switch between percentage and amount changes.
Our preconfigured dashboards come preloaded with the data insights we think make the most sense for the dashboard, but you can add and remove insights as you like.
To add a new insight, click the Add Data Insight button.
A pop-up will appear for you to configure the new insight.
First, you’ll choose the Metric that you want the data insight to display. When you select a metric, the pop-up will preview it for you with placeholder data.
Then, you’ll select the Chart Type, which determines how the insight will display the data.
Depending on the metric, you may see different options here. For example, Contributions by Form can be displayed as a Bar Chart, a List, or a Pie Chart.

Pie Chart
Some metrics have a fixed Chart Type. For example, Amount Left to be Raised is always represented as a dollar amount. Fixed Chart Types will appear greyed out.
If you have the Giving Essentials package, you can also set up some data insights to compare forms and events.
When using the Compare feature, you can customize both the forms and timeframes for comparison.
Another feature available to Giving Essentials users is the Trailing 12 Months view for the Contributions by Date and the One-Time vs Recurring Contributions data insights.
Enabling Trailing 12 Months allows you to see how your metrics are performing without seasonal fluctuations. For the view to work, you must have a least 13 months of transaction data in the system.
When you’ve configured the data insight, click Add Data Insight to add it to the dashboard.
By default, your new insight will be added to the bottom of the dashboard, but you can drag and drop it wherever you want.
Adding Goals to Insights
Many insights can have a goal added to make it easy to measure progress. To learn more about the supported insights, check out this article.
Please note: The following insights can’t have goals added: Amount Left to be Raised, At-Risk Donors, Days Left to Event, Item Performance, Lapsed Donors, New Donors, Percent of Goal Reached, and Recent Transactions
If the insight supports the goal feature, you'll see the goal icon in the upper right-hand corner of the insight.
Click the goal icon to display the Add New Goal modal.
Next, select the Goal Type and enter the Goal Amount. Then, click Add Goal.
Please note: There's also a third goal type called Per Item. To learn more about how to add this type of goal, skip ahead to this section.
Goal Types
You can choose You can choose Progress or Target as the Goal Type from the Add New Goal modal.
Progress Goal
The Progress goal type gives you the ability to set a goal and then see the amount being raised versus the goal—similar to a thermometer.
Progress goals can also be added to the following insight chart types: bar, line, pie, dollar, number, percent, and fraction.

Target Goal
The Target goals display goals on insights without showing progress toward each goal.
Target goals can also be added to the following chart types of insights: bar, line, dollar, number, fraction, or percent.
The Target goal is indicated by the dashed, grey line on bar charts and line charts as shown below.

Per Item Goal
Additionally, there is a third goal type you can add to supported insights called the Per Item Goal. Per item goals give you the ability to set a goal for each item within a data insight. This goal type is supported on the following chart types: bar and line.
Please note: If an insight has any Per Item goals, adding a Progress or Target goal will overwrite all Per Item goals. Conversely, if an insight has a Progress or Target goal, adding a Per Item goal will overwrite the other goal. If an insight displays two sets of data, it is possible to add Target or Progress goals but not Per Item goals.
To add a Per Item goal to a bar or line chart, simply hover over the text of the metric at the bottom of the insight and click Add New Goal.
After a Per Item goal has been added to a bar chart, the insight will look something like this on your dashboard. The Per Item goal displays as a light gray bar for each metric.
Here’s an example of a line chart with a Per Item goal.
Removing Goals
To remove a Target or Progress goal from your insight , simply click the goal icon in the upper right-hand corner after the goal has been added and click Remove.
To remove a Per Item goal, hover over the data item’s label and click Edit/Remove Goal. Next, click the Remove Button.
