The DonorPerfect integration can support the creation of recurring donation records within DonorPerfect based on recurring transactions created and managed in Qgiv. Rather than exporting each recurring payment as a unique gift that isn't affiliated with a recurring giving plan or pledge, users can track recurring gifts in DonorPerfect and apply payments toward pledges when the transactions are exported.

Enabling Pledge Support
To enable Pledge Support for DonorPerfect, click the gear icon on the integration to open Settings.
Within DonorPerfect's settings, locate the Enable DonorPerfect Pledge Support? toggle and click it to enable.
Once you've toggled on pledge support, recurring donations will be exported to DonorPerfect as Pledges.
When a new pledge or recurring record is created in DonorPerfect, you will see a tooltip in the Export History Report, indicating the gift type.
Each time a recurring donation is billed and the new transaction exported, the integration will create a DonorPerfect gift for each line item and apply that gift to the related pledge.
The integration will also create a pledge record for any transaction billed as an invoice. Once the invoice is paid, the payment will be applied to the pledge in DonorPerfect.

What happens if changes are made to a recurring gift?
If the pledge total is decreased, as long as the new total is not less than the amount already paid, Qgiv will update the total on the related DonorPerfect pledge record.
If anything else is changed, a new pledge record will be created. The original pledge will be closed, and the ID of the new pledge will be added to the original pledge's gift memo field.
Examples of changes that will result in a new pledge record:
- Frequency changes
- Start date changes
- Gift date changes
- The total is increased
- The total is decreased, and the updated total is less than the amount already given towards the pledge
If a recurring gift or pledge is cancelled, the corresponding record in DonorPerfect will update as follows:
- "Write-off Amount" will be set to the difference between what was pledged and what was paid
- “Write-off Date" will be set to the date the pledge was deleted
What happens if a donor or Qgiv user pauses a recurring gift?
When a donor or Qgiv user pauses a recurring gift, there is no impact to the record. That way, once payments are resumed, a new pledge won't need to be created. Installments are then applied to the original pledge record as before.
