Contents:
Start by navigating to the Dedications area of your donation form.
This section has three tabs:
- Dedication Types: Set up types such as "In honor of," In memory of," etc.
- Dedication Fields: Add text box, text area, check box, or drop-down fields to gather more information about the dedication
- Settings: Toggle on a dedication notification that can be sent to a recipient of the donor's choosing; choose where you'd like the dedications section to display on your form
Dedication Types
To create a Dedication Type, click Add New Dedication Type.
In the Dedication Text field, enter the text you'd like to display in the drop-down on your public-facing form. For example, "In honor of," "In memory of," etc.
Choose your display options to determine what devices should display the dedication type.
When you're ready, click Add New Dedication Type.
Your new dedication type will appear in the main listing. You can drag and drop to reorder, edit, or delete types at any time.
Dedication Fields
The next tab is Dedication Fields. Dedication fields can be used to collect additional information about a dedication. A possible use case is if your organization is sending out physical cards to dedication recipients. You could use a field to request a mailing address.
When you click Add New Dedication Field, your settings options will appear.
You'll first need to select a Field Type. Your options are Text Area, Text Box, Checkbox, and Dropdown.
Next, fill in a Field Label, which is what will display on your form. You can also fill in optional Field Help Text if you need to add extra information directly below the field.
If you want to limit the number of characters donors can put in the field, use the Maximum Characters field.
Next, select if you'd like the field to be Required and if it should appear on its own line on the form.
Choose your display options, and then determine what'd you like as the Reporting Label for the field. The Reporting Label is what will display as the column header in reports.
When you're ready, click Add New Dedication Field to save your field.
Your new dedication field will appear in the main listing. You can drag and drop to reorder, edit, or delete fields at any time.
Settings
The last tab is for dedication Settings.
If you toggle on the Enable Dedication Notification setting, donors who make a donation with a dedication will have the option to specify a recipient who will be notified by email when a donation is made in honor or in memory of them or a loved one. This message can be customized in the Receipts area of your form-level control panel.
In the Display Settings section, you can choose where on your form dedications will display.
You have three options for where to display the dedication option on your form:
- Choose Gift
- Donor Details
- Additional Details
On a multistep form, this will change the step in which dedications display. On a single-step form, your choice will change the section of the form in which the dedication displays.
Be sure you save your work before navigating away!
