If you'd like to offer a way for donors to specify where their donation should be applied, you can set up Restrictions.

Restriction Basics
When you offer donors the option to select a single restriction to direct their support, your restrictions will appear in a single drop-down menu on the form beneath the donation amounts.
You can also enable sub-restrictions, which offer donors additional options to specify where they’d like their donations applied.
And if you want donors to be able to apply their gifts to multiple restrictions, you can enable multi-restriction giving!
Creating a Single Restriction
To create a restriction, navigate to the Restrictions area of the donation form settings, and click the Add New Restriction button.
You'll be prompted to enter a Name and optional Description.
Next, decide if you want to Enable Sub-Restrictions. Skip ahead to this section to read about configuring sub-restrictions.
Finally, choose on which devices to display the restriction. You may see more or fewer Display Options based on your Qgiv packages.
Click Add New Restriction to save your settings.
Once you've added restrictions, you can drag and drop to reorder them and edit or delete them at any time in the main listing.
Configuring Sub-Restrictions
Sub-restrictions are handy if you have a program with multiple components.
With sub-restrictions enabled, you can decide if you want to write them yourself, providing donors with a list to choose from, or if you want to let donors write their own sub-restrictions.
If you select Donors choose from a list, you’ll then fill in the Sub-Restrictions Label, which will prompt donors to make a choice, and then create your list of options, using the Name and Description fields.
You can create additional sub-restrictions by clicking Add a Sub-Restriction.
If you select Donors can write their own, you’ll just see the option to customize the Sub-Restrictions Label, which will indicate to donors that they should tell you how to direct their support, but you won’t need to add any sub-restriction options.
Please note: Kiosks do not support donor-written sub-restrictions.
Here's how your sub-restrictions will look on the public-facing donation form:

Multi-Restriction Giving
If you’ve enabled Multi-Restriction Giving in your Donation Settings, you’ll see some additional options.
Please note: Multi-Restriction Giving is not currently compatible with Smart Amounts. If you’ve enabled Smart Amounts for your donation form, you will not be able to enable Multi-Restriction Giving and vice versa.
If you’d like to display an image with the restriction, you can upload one by clicking Change Default Image and selecting a file from your computer.
You can move and resize the image to fit the required image dimensions. Click I'm Done Editing when you're finished.
Next, decide what Amounts the donor should see. You can choose to display All amounts enabled for the donation form.
Or you can select Specific amount(s) by using the Select Amounts area.
As with single restrictions, you can Enable Sub-Restrictions and choose your Display Options in this area.
Restriction Groups
With Multi-Restriction Giving enabled, you can also organize restrictions into Groups. To group your restrictions, head to the Groups tab.
Then, click Add New Restriction Group.
Give your group a Name and optional Description.
Then, choose one or more restrictions to include in the group using the Select Restrictions field under Associate Specific Restriction(s) with Group.
Click Add New Group when you’re done.
Grouped restrictions will appear together on your public-facing form.
Please note: If you toggle off a restriction group, the restrictions in that group will still appear on the form, but they will not be grouped together.
Multi-Restriction Display Settings
By default, the donation amounts and sub-restrictions for Multi-Restriction Giving are collapsed until the donor selects a restriction. Then, the amounts and sub-restrictions will display on the form.
Pro tip: We recommend you hide the restriction amounts until a donor selects a restriction to keep your donation form more streamlined and to avoid giving your donors too many options right away.
However, if you’d like your restriction amounts displayed before the donor selects a restriction, head to Form Builder, and open the donation amount settings.
In the drop-down labeled “When should the amount and sub-restriction options associated with each restriction display?”, choose Always.
Click Update to save the setting.
