The Double the Donation 360MatchPro integration makes it easy for donors to determine if their donation to your nonprofit is eligible of being matched by their employer. This helps ensure nonprofits aren’t leaving matched gifts on the table when their supporters give. You can also easily track the status of matching gifts with the Matching Gifts Report.
Please note: To enable the integration, you must be a Double the Donation customer using their 360MatchPro plan. If you're not a customer, you can submit your information right from the control panel by visiting Form Settings>Donation Settings>Enable Matching Gifts>"Activate" Double the Donation>Get started with Double the Donation.
If you're using their Premium plan, you can still embed a Double the Donation widget on your form. It doesn't automatically start the matching process, but donors can still search for an employer match. You can learn more about that option in this article.

Getting Started
To set up the integration, first navigate to the Qgiv form you want to add the integration to. Simply click Forms from your Org-Level Dashboard then select the form you want from your list of forms.
Then, click Donations under Form Settings. Select the Settings tab and scroll down to the Enable Employer Matching Gifts toggle.
Activating the Double the Donation Integration
With Matching Gifts enabled, click Activate to the right of the Double the Donation integration.
If you don’t already use Double the Donation, click the "Get Started" link to set up your account. Note that for the integration to work correctly you must sign up for a 360MatchPro account with Double the Donation.
If you do have a Double the Donation account, once you click Activate, you’ll need your Private and Public API Keys.
These can be found by logging into your account on Double the Donation’s website. Then, navigate to Settings > API keys. Copy and paste your Public and Private API Keys into the fields in Qgiv. Save.
Then, make sure the API Connection displays as connected.
Pro tip: In the General Settings for the form is a toggle offering the option to include or exclude unverified offline and unfulfilled matching donations in fundraising thermometers. Toggle it on to include these gifts in thermometers or leave it off to exclude them. They'll only count toward your fundraising goals when the gifts are fulfilled and verified.
Once you've enabled matching gifts, save your donation settings. Then, select View Form to ensure the Double the Donation matching gift search bar appears on your form.
What Donors See
Now, when your donors make their gifts, they’ll see the search bar with messaging encouraging them to search for their employer and determine if their donation is eligible for a matching gift.
Donors can search for all or part of their employer’s name then select it from the list. If their employer isn’t listed, their employer’s matching gift program is not managed through the Double the Donation matching gift service. In this case, donors should reach out to their employer directly to ask if the company matches donations.
This integration works with both one-time and recurring donations. If the donor sets up a recurring gift and selects their employer from the matching gift search bar, a matching gift record will be created for each instance of their recurring donation.
They can then complete entering their payment details and finish making their donation. When the donation is made with an expected match a matching gift record is created with a pending status.
On the donation confirmation page, the employer's matching gift information is displayed below the transaction details. This information is provided by Double the Donation. On this page, donors can access and complete their employer's matching gift form by clicking the Go To Matching Gift Form button or view their employer's matching gift guidelines by clicking the Show Program Details link.
If donors didn't enter an employer in the search field on the donation form, the Double the Donation widget will automatically be displayed on the donation confirmation page asking them to search for their employer.
If you toggled on include unverified donations in fundraising goals in your form settings, matching gifts with a pending status will still be applied toward your fundraising goals. To exclude matching gifts that haven’t been fulfilled, toggle this setting off. Your fulfilled matching gifts will still apply to your fundraising goals and appear in your thermometer.
If they elected to seek a matching gift, the donor will receive an email automatically from Double the Donation (matchinggifts@doublethedonation.com) with links to their employer’s matching gift paperwork.
With a 360MatchPro account with Double the Donation, you can customize the look, feel, and timing of these emails. Take a look at this support article from Double the Donation for information on what you can customize and how to do it: https://support.doublethedonation.com/portal/kb/articles/customize-email-appearance.
They then submit the paperwork listing your nonprofit as the beneficiary of the match. It’s important to note that different employers have different matching gift requirements and not all applications are completed in the same way.
Reporting
You can check the status of matching gifts in the Matching Gifts Report.
If you need an in-depth look at the details of a matching gift or determine whether a transaction is associated with a matching gift, locate the matching gift's Transaction ID and click it to view the Transaction Details page.
At the top of the page, you'll see two buttons. One directs you to the Transaction Details page of the original donation. The other voids the matching gift (used if the donor notifies you their donation was ineligible for an employer match). Beneath that are the matching gift transaction details.
You can also view a donation's associated matching gift. If you open the Transaction Details page for a donation associated with a matching gift, an option is added at the top of the Transaction Details page to View Matching Donation.
