You'll want to set up your Givi profile and configure some basic settings before you tell your donors about Givi. To get started, click the Givi link under Fundraising in your org-level control panel.
You'll see four tabs, and you'll land on the My Givi Profile tab by default, which is what we'll cover in this article. You can read about Givi Restrictions, Givi Receipts, and Givi Images by clicking the hyperlinked text.
Setting Up Your Givi Profile
Your Givi profile is what donors will see when they tap your organization's name from the search tool in Givi.
The Profile Information section is what controls the information about your organization that is displayed in Givi. Fill in your address, phone number, and website, and enter a brief description of your organization. The character limit is 256. You can also include links to your organization's Facebook and X (formerly Twitter) pages.
The Organization Card Background area is where you'll upload an image that will appear in Givi and display when someone adds your organization to their Favorites list or visits your profile in Givi. If you toggle on "Include card background in image gallery," it will appear in the Images tab.
You can drag the image around within the editing window to focus on the area of the image you'd like displayed, and you can use the magnifying glass icons to zoom in or out. Click I'm Done Editing when you're satisfied.
Your profile is good to go. If you're not making any other changes, make sure you save your work by clicking Save Givi Settings at the bottom of the screen.
Givi Settings
Below the profile section, you'll see the Givi Settings section.
Here, you can modify your Givi Form Name. This name is for internal use and will appear in reports.
If you'd like to give your Givi donors the option to give to more than one restriction during one transaction, toggle on Enable Simple Multi-Restriction Giving. You must have at least one active Givi restriction enabled for this option to be available.
When the option is turned on, your donors will see all of your restrictions with a field to enter amounts when they tap the donation amount field in Givi.
Toggling on Enable Recurring Donations also gives donors the option to set up recurring donations via your Givi form.
You can choose which frequency options you’d like your donors to see in the app. Just be sure you’ve checked One Time if you’ve toggled recurring donations on and want that to be available! You can also give your donors the ability to choose a recurring donation end date.
If you'd like to give Givi donors the option to assist with processing costs, toggle on Enable GiftAssist.
You can apply either a percentage of the transaction total or enter a flat fee. The maximum percentage that can be entered is 6.00%; the maximum flat fee is $10.00.
In the Checkbox label field, you can customize the text that appears next to the checkbox where donors will indicate they’d like to help offset transaction costs. The %Fee% tag will populate with the GiftAssist amount.
You can read more about GiftAssist here.
