Getting Started
To access the Virtual Terminal, click the Terminal icon in the left-hand navigation of your Qgiv control panel.
Here, you'll see the Select a Form, Auction, or Peer-to-Peer Campaign drop-down menu.
Select your peer-to-peer campaign in the drop-down and then choose Matching Donations.
Please note: To see this option, you must have matching gifts with Manual Matching enabled in your Campaign Settings.
This is where you can enter a matching donation for a donation that has already been processed.
Matching Donation Details
In the Matching Donation Details section, choose the matching Donation Amount. Then, choose if you'd like to match the donation to a particular transaction or a peer-to-peer entity.
If you choose Transaction, the Search for a transaction drop-down will populate with your options. You can search by donor name or transaction ID. Once you find and select a transaction, it will appear as follows in the drop-down:
If you choose Entity, you can choose to apply the matching donation amount to the overall campaign, to a team, or to a participant.
A search bar will appear if you choose participant or team. Once you've located the correct entity, click the radio button next to the entity's name.
Contact Information
In the Contact Information section, enter the contact information for the matching company.
Transaction Notes
If there are any notes you'd like to add to the transaction, you can enter them in the Transaction Notes section. These are only visible to admins.
These notes can be edited after a transaction has been entered by clicking on the transaction ID in your recent activity feed or from your reporting interface. Once you've clicked the transaction ID, you'll see a Memo option. Click Edit to change the existing notes, or click Add if you didn't initially enter notes but would like to.
Processing the Match
When you're done entering all necessary information, click Process Matching Donation.
Please note: You won't see an area to input payment information. The matching gift is considered an offline donation, so the funds will need to be collected in an offline form: cash or check.
That's it! Your matching donation will now show up in your Donors table (located within Constituents in your peer-to-peer control panel), as well as in your Peer-to-Peer Donations report and Matching Gifts report.
Need to know which user entered a Virtual Terminal transaction? Their username will be listed under the Created By field in your transaction reports.
