In this article, we’ll explore customizing the URLs of your Qgiv forms. We’ll show you which URLs you can update yourself and which ones you need to contact us to update.

What Is a Form Key?
Before we dive into updating your URLs, note that most of the updates you can make will be to the form’s form key.
The form key is the very last part of the form’s URL. You’ll also see this referred to as the form’s alias.
Here’s an example of a donation form URL with the form key/alias in bold, orange text:
https://secure.qgiv.com/for/kto/
The form key can be updated for free, and in the case of standard events, peer-to-peer forms, and auctions, you can update the form key yourself in the form settings.
Updating the Form Key
You can update a URL’s form key by navigating to the settings for:
- Standard events
- Peer-to-peer campaigns
- Auctions
Please note: You can’t update a donation form’s key in the settings. In order to update the form key for a donation form, reach out to the Support team, and we can update it for you.
Pro tip: Once the URL has been shared, changing the alias will break the original URL. We recommend you set the alias before you start sharing the URL and then don’t change it unless absolutely necessary.
Standard Events
To customize a standard event URL, navigate to the Events area of the donation form, click Edit for the event you want to update, and then click the Details tab.
Scroll down to Advanced Settings where you can edit the Event Alias.
Change the alias and then save your settings.
Peer-to-Peer
To customize a peer-to-peer URL, click Campaign Settings in the form navigation.
Scroll down to Custom Settings where you can edit the Campaign Alias.
Change the alias and then save your settings.
Auctions
To customize an auction URL, click Auction Settings in the form navigation.
Scroll down to Advanced Settings where you can edit the Event Alias.
Change the alias and then save your settings.
Changing Peer-to-Peer Participant URLs
Peer-to-peer participants can also make small changes to their personal fundraising page URLs by adding a custom key to the end of the existing URL.
On the home screen of the Fundraising Dashboard, participants can find their page’s URL, as well as their team page’s URL if they’re part of a team.
Clicking the Edit icon displays a field where the participant can add a custom key to the end of the URL.
They’ll click Save URL to finalize the edit.
Custom URLs
If you want your forms to have fully customized URLs, we can help with that too! Custom domains are available for donation forms, peer-to-peer campaigns, and auctions and require an additional fee.
When you purchase a custom domain, your form’s URL will not include any of the Qgiv elements that are included in basic URLs.
