Abandoned Gift Reminders are a great way to increase your donation conversions by reminding donors to complete their gifts. When enabled, donors who select a donation amount but then scroll away from or close your donation form will see a small popup nudge encouraging them to return to the donation form and submit their gift. The popup will continue to display if they return to the page within 48 hours of initiating their donation.
This article will walk you through enabling Abandoned Gift Reminders for redesigned peer-to-peer donation forms, year-round donation forms using a landing page, and embedded year-round donation forms. We’ll also show you what your donors will see on each of these types of forms.
Please note: Abandoned Gift Reminders are currently in Beta and are in the process of being added to donation forms. If you don’t see the option in your settings yet, you’ll see it soon! If you have questions or would like to share feedback, please reach out.

Peer-to-Peer Abandoned Gift Reminders
Abandoned Gift Reminders are available for peer-to-peer donation forms that have been updated to the Peer-to-Peer Donations Redesign Beta.
To activate reminders, navigate to Donations within Donation Setup.
On the Donation Settings tab, scroll down to Additional Conversion Opportunities.
Then, toggle on Enable Abandoned Gift Reminders.
What Peer-to-Peer Donors See
When a supporter visits your peer-to-peer campaign site, they’ll first notice a message about cookies at the bottom of the screen. They can dismiss the banner, which will reappear the next time they visit the site. Or they can click Privacy Policy to read more about cookies and learn how to opt out.
To opt out of cookies, donors must contact Qgiv support. Donors who choose to have cookies turned off, will no longer receive the Abandoned Gift Reminders, and the banner will disappear.
If a donor opens the peer-to-peer donation form, selects an amount, and then closes the modal without submitting a gift, a popup will appear in the bottom-right corner of the screen with the selected amount included in the appeal.
Clicking Give now reopens with the donation form with the amount preselected. If the donor selected a donation recipient before closing the form, that will also populate when they reopen the form. Clicking Not today dismisses the reminder message until the next time the donor visits (or refreshes) the page.
Until the reminder has been dismissed or the donor has completed their gift, it will appear on each page of the peer-to-peer site. The reminder will continue to appear each time the donor visits the page for up to 48 hours.
Your campaign's theme font will be applied to both the popup and the cookie banner, and the background of the popup will be the campaign’s primary theme color.

It’s your responsibility as the site host to provide information about all cookies generated on your site and provide details about how users can opt out of optional cookies.
For instructions on how donors can opt out of optional Qgiv cookies, please refer to our Cookie Policy. To help you get an idea of language you may want to include in your Cookie Policy, we’ve provided an example below. This example will not apply to all environments and should be reviewed and adjusted to fit your site’s context prior to implementation:
“Qgiv is a third party service that uses cookies and other tracking technologies to help enhance site navigation, analyze site usage, and assist in marketing efforts. No optional cookies are shared with third parties. If you would like to opt out of optional cookies you can find details of how to submit a verifiable consumer request in Qgiv’s Privacy Policy.”
