The API Access area within Data Tools is where you’ll give permissions for other programs to interface with your forms and/or event pages.
Your development team will most likely be the individuals dealing with API access. There are two types of API tokens:
- Permanent This type of token never expires and is used for development purposes.
- Temporary This is an easy-to-use token to grant one-time use login access to the Qgiv's Virtual Terminal app. Use these tokens in place of giving out usernames and passwords for volunteers at events. You can have them use the token code to log in to the mobile app. They’ll be able to log in to the app, but they cannot make any changes to your settings.
To create a new token, click the Create API Token button located in the upper left-hand corner of the API Access screen.
The previously described options will appear.
Enter a name for your token, choose a type, and select the forms you’d like to associate with the token. Click Add New Token to create your token, or Cancel.
