When you’re composing attendee notifications for your auctions or creating new auction items, you might notice that certain words aren’t allowed.
If you enter a blocked word, you’ll be able to save the notification or item, but the word will be removed if sent via SMS text message.
For example, an outbid notification for the item would display only the item number and would not include the item name.
In the case of custom notifications, the message will not be sent if it contains a blocked word.
Twilio—the service that hosts Qgiv’s text messaging features—provides guidelines for types of words that can’t be sent via the platform. This includes any content that is “illegal, harmful, unwanted, inappropriate, objectionable, confirmed to be criminal misinformation, or otherwise poses a threat to the public, even if the content is permissible by law.”
It’s important that we block the use of these words from within the Qgiv system to protect your organization and ourselves from incurring fines due to noncompliance.
To learn more, check out Twilio’s acceptable use and messaging policies.
