You can use Data Mapping to link third-party identifiers to your donors so your reports include that additional information. This makes exporting data to a third-party system a bit easier. For example, you can tie a donor ID to an email address in our system so all reports that include the donor/email will include an additional column with the donor ID for proper mapping.

Data Mappings Table
To access data mapping, click the Data Mapping link under Data Tools on your organization-level dashboard.
You'll land on a screen that displays your current mappings in a table.
The columns in the table display the:
- Mapping ID This column displays the unique ID number associated with each mapping.
- Mapped Qgiv Data This column displays which data in Qgiv is being mapped. For example, you may see the name of a restriction in this column if you make that selection.
- Export Data This column displays what you entered as the export data.
- Qgiv Data Type This column displays the type of data exported from Qgiv, such as email or restriction.
Using the search bar, you can search for a specific mapping by Mapping ID, Mapping Data, or Export Data. Click Advanced Filtering to filter your list by Data Type.
You can also download your mappings as a CSV or Excel file.
Adding a Mapping
To create a new mapping, click the Add New Data Mapping button.
In the resulting window, you’ll see two tabs. The Add a New Mapping option allows you to add mappings one by one, and the Add Multiple Mappings button allows you to upload a CSV and map via a batch.
Let’s start with the Add a New Mapping tab.
First, select the Qgiv data you’d like to tie your export data to by selecting from the Select a Type drop-down.
You can choose from:
- Form
- Restrictions
- Events
- Recurring Donors
- Participants
In the next drop-down, all available options related to the selected Qgiv data type will be populated from your account. Select where you’d like to map your data.
In the textbox, enter your export data.
When you’ve entered your mapping information, click Create New Data Mapping. You may also choose to Cancel your actions.
Your new data mapping will appear in the main data mapping table.
Adding Multiple Mappings
To add multiple data mappings at one time, click the Add New Data Mapping button, and then click the Add Multiple Mappings tab.
First, select the Qgiv data you’d like to use by making a selecting from the Select a Type drop-down.
Next, click Choose File to upload your CSV of data.
When you’ve configured the mapping to your liking, click Create New Data Mappings. You may also choose to Cancel your actions.
Your new mapping will appear in the main data mapping table.
Deleting and Editing Mappings
You may delete a mapping at any time by clicking that option in the table.
You can also change the text in the Export Data column by clicking Edit. A text box will appear in which you can enter a new description. Click Save when you’re done. Your new description will now be displayed in the Export Data column.
